Pony Soprano - “Oregon Trail”

Harmonies: I love them, you love them, Pony Soprano adores them. Austin’s Annie Flom and Tessa Mitterhoff make up the excellently named band, delivering dark, enticing folk music balanced on the foundation of their perfectly entwining voices.

The Woodhouse is proud to premiere “Oregon Trail” from their debut album (and also wonderfully titled) Disgraced Local Band Pony Soprano.

“The themes on the EP range from weed healing your anxiety to loving people who aren’t quite right for you to eating the rich,” says Mitterhoff. “All of these ideas are things me and Annie have talked about at length over the course of the past two beautiful years of our friendship and little over a year of Pony Soprano’s existence.”

“Oregon Trail” is a nod to the 6th grade computer room classic, but also a tribute to a weary restlessness. Settlers once looked west for hope, but in an overly connected world, there’s nowhere to run when everything is collapsing. But Pony Soprano makes that unease feel just a touch lighter with their beguiling music.
